Sustainability

Our Attitude Towards Sustainability

Here at Royal Touch London, we strongly believe that it is our moral duty and obligation to help sustain the natural environment in which we all live. As such, we are very much committed to running a sustainable business and one which also minimises the impact we have on our planet.

From the time-honoured traditional practises our artisans use, to the enduring materials they’re crafted from, a strong ethos of artistic environmental consciousness underpins our business.

We make a concerted effort wherever possible to only use recyclable silver. As the supply chain globally is becoming more transparent, access to ethically sourced materials is becoming a reality. At Royal Touch London we keep up to date with responsible sourcing, working, for example, we source our packaging materials from responsible sources such as FSC Certified, 100% Recylcable sources, Fairtrade suppliers and our raw materials from official market sources such as artisanal silver miners, suppliers who specialise in recycled silver  and other official sources .

More than 70% of all Silver metal currently in circulation today is derived from recyclable sources, making it easier than ever before to shop and live more consciously. Over 150 million ounces of silver metal were recycled as per 2019 The Silver Institute Report. Of all the metal products manufactured till date 80% of them are still in use today. Promoting sustainable shopping is something we strongly advocate.

We are passionately against the use of non-recyclable materials of any description as well as any  single use objects. The beauty of Sterling Silver is that it is both durable and reusable which fits with our ethos of using environmentally conscious materials to create functional yet highly stylish everyday objects. Timeless objects, designed to be enjoyed everyday, created using recyclable materials and produced fairly.

The Benefits  Of Reducing And Reusing

As a business we only source and work with high-quality raw materials from suppliers and designers who likewise, appreciate the importance of using recyclable and reusable materials, combined with sustainable and responsible craftsmanship techniques. By working together to reduce and reuse materials, we’re not only protecting the environment and creating less waste, we’re also reducing landfills and contributing towards a low carbon future. We’re proud as a business to be making such a positive  impact.

It’s our mission to be part of a global change to minimise environmental impact along the entire supply chain, from original material sourcing through to end customer.

As such, we’re proud to donate a proportion of our profits to World Wildlife Fund in recognition of the importance that managing natural resources has on the long-term resilience of our planet. We’re dedicated to being part of  Global Action Plan, a movement which aspires to leave behind for future generations  a protected and undamaged environment , still rich and abundant with natural resources.
